hydroids turning into aliens?

Some of the hydroids are turning brown and making crazy snapping motions and about a day later they detach from the live rock and swim around the tank chasing my clowns. Does anyone else have these?

thats the actual hydroid, which is a type of jellyfish. they die off, but some can be a nuissance.

aww, I tried to tell the pet store that they looked like jellyfish when they were swimming around the tank and he had no idea. There are tons of hydroids so should I kill them? I think my peppermint is eating them once they start snapping cuz there arent any swimming now.
