the other two, one was significantly bigger than the other!

Alright LOL well there goes my theory on the other two

I didn't really get specifics so I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions. My apologies to you for that.
Seriously though, keep a VERY close eye on these two. I didn't realize that they were in a nano. That is tight quarters. They may be perfectly fine. I don't mean to scare you, but it is likely that they won't be. Personally, I would just have the one clown but, being that you have them see what happens. If one is getting injured then remove him.

It's all good, Sep

I should have only gotten one clown, my fault also.
I had two clarkii's in the 12 for over a year, and they got upgraded to a 29 gallong when I tore down the 12 and restarted.

A pair can live in a twelve but I am not sure that they will live through the "honeymoon" period. That time is rough, especially if they are the same size with no room to get away. I would honestly pick one and return the other before the fighting gets going strong. You also have another fish in there right?

Trying to decide if that is a good sign or not

I just hope they aren't dead in the morning

I will update before I leave for work.

could I put those two in my 29 gallon, and my single clarkii (2") back in the 12?
Yep, that would be a much better environment for them. Acclimate them though. I am sure that you knew that but I had to say it

Are you planning on doing this tonight? I really wouldn't unless they are seriously pestering one another. You may want to wait until tomorrow. They have already endured the quick rise in SG.

They are still frantic? How many hours has it been now? You are watching from across the room and the tank's lights are of right?

Room lights are fine. That is all that I ever use on the first day. I honestly wouldn't move them tonight if they were my fish. Now, I don't want you to wake up to someone injured and blame Sep either
I wouldn't move them though. Wait until tomorrow night when you can safely drip acclimate them into the other tank. Don't have the Clarki in there when you release them.

They are still alive after I got home from work, and they DID eat flake food

They are also less pale, and swimming more, -- normally
