ive been doing hypo for about 3 weeks now to get rid of my ich in my tank. all thats in the tank is rock, sand, maroon clown, and a blue tang. everything else is in a smaler tank for the time being. they hypo seems to be working yet my tank is getting pretty dirty...any suggestions on what to do to help decrease the algae build up? i already keep the lights on less than i usually do and i cant think of anything else to do. :notsure:

I'd worry about getting rid of the ich first. You can always focus on the algae problem later.
It may also go away once the salinity comes back up. As with all creatures, some like the water more salty and some like it less salty. Maybe the algae growing is now taking off becasue it likes the less salty water. If you didn't have a problem before, then I wouldn't worry about it now.
Also, if you don't have corals you really don't need the lights on at all. You could just turn them off except when you are in the room looking at and enjoying your tank. The fish won't mind if it is dark.
