Hyposalinity? Couple questions

How long do the fish need to be treated via hyposalinity? Since that is to kill the parasites ON the fish shouldn't it be used only for a couple weeks, to reduce stress? the reason for the 4-6 weeks it to kill every lifestage of the ich in the Display tank, right? or should I keep them at 1.009 for the entire 6 week period? The DT is fishless but has corals, anemones, a feather duster, hermits, snails, an electric flame scallop, and a cleaner shrimp.

The fish should be kept in hyposaline conditions for at least three weeks AFTER all symptoms have disappeared. Then raise salinity back to DT levels over 5-7 days.
