I think it'll be Obama with Edwards as his running mate.
I sure hope McCain makes it, but no one is necessarily out of the race yet.

Interesting, I was figuring Hillary with Obama as a running mate. I think that being the "first" in their respective "groups" will bring them together. Obama will get his experience from the VP office and have a solid ground to run on his own in 8 years. And I do think that no matter who ends up as the republican candidate, Hillary will likely end up in office. This doesn't mean I support her, I just think it's inevitible.

I'm hoping not. I like McCain, and I think he'd be the best canidate to tackle the mess we're in. I also think he'd gain more respect from other countries because he's the only canidate that's been in a war. I also like him for that, he's seen the horrors of war, which I'm hoping that he'd prevent us getting into another one.

you're probably right, unfortunately. as a republican voter, I'll be writing a name if McCain is the candidate. hell, I may even vote for Obama out of protest.

They both seem pretty much the same to me.

nope, Giuliani would beat her because he would win several traditional "blue" states. and I think Mitt Romney would stand a good chance as well. I think if Republican voters had half a brain, they'd be supporting one of these 2 instead of someone who has no chance of winning. but as I've heard a lot of people around here saying, "I'm voting for Huckabee because he's a good Christian man" or "I'm voting for McCain because he was in Vietnam". well, if that's your reasoning, not only is it sad, but you should go ahead and cast your vote for Hillary or Obama because McCain or Huckabee won't be president in 2009.

Had Hillary lost NH I might see where you are coming from. But, not now. Edwards doesn't have enough gold in his war chest (or bank account) to compete with her or avoid the long knives sure to come out from her political hit squads.
I praaay you are wrong about McCain, but the media has coronated him so there's certainly going to be a push.

I have been preaching this message to friends and family for 6 months now.
Guiliani is certainly not my favorite person, but at least he's not a socialist. Once we start down the road of choosing socialist candidates who promise the most if we elect them we've doomed our Republic.

Oh let me guess, Hilary is a socialist.

So is our public schools system & our highway system a Republic idea?

Yes, yes she is. As is Obama. Listen to what they say regarding business, taxes, redistrubition of wealth, health care, etc. and tell me how they are not.

Care to explain to me how public school systems and public road systems are a democratic idea?

You actualy think politicians believe what they say? Or do they say things to get votes? That's why I try my best not to get into politics because of all the curroption.

you can laugh if you want, but Hillary Clinton is VERY MUCH a socialist. she may not be a closet commie or even be smart enough to realize it, but most of her ideas are very much socialist ideas. I think a lot of Obama's ideas are too, but not to the extent of Clinton. I think Obama how some good ideas and some ideas that are not too well thought out, and this is where he will be tripped up before it's said and done.

Hey I'm not a fan of Clinton, but I think it's a little extreme to say she's a socialist when most of Americans take advantage of socialism each day.

the public school system really isn't, except that it is supposed to give every an equal and fair shot. but I think it's good that some sane politicians are working to make it so that parents can have the choice of where to send their children.
as for the road system, I have no idea what you're talking about. roads benefit everyone, including the US economy. we could not function as a country without a good interstate and public road system.

how? with the roads again? if that's your point, it's pretty lame. every country in the industrialized world has roads. roads are not something that was invented by socialists. roads are also something that is paid for by everyone who uses the road, so how exactly do you contend that the public road system is a socialist idea?

Public schools are not federal, they are run by the States.
Most of the transportation in this country is also state controlled. If it is federal it falls under Congress' right to control trade and commerce.
Sorry; Hillary is still a socialist
