I am looking for a schooling reef-safe fish. I want to add a small school, about 5 to my 75 gallon tank.
I am not crazy about cardinals, and chromis are not working out. What else?

I think your tank is too small, but I'm not sure exactly. Anthias school, don't they? Also, what else do you have in your tank?
And those look like freshwater tetras lol

Unfortunately your tank probably isn't big enough for a school of Anthias, unless they're the only fish, and even that's kind of pushing it.
Besides, my Anthias don't school and hide in the damn rocks all day.
Here's the best schooling fish:
Anthias, Cardinals, Blue Reef Chromis, regular Chromis, Firefish (sometimes, mainly if they're added at the same time)

I tried 3 chromis, one died. I replaced it, and each one has died-one by one. I think they bullied the smallest one and then the last one died from being alone.

Yeah, my chromis die. I have had four die now. Water parameters are all fine, everything else is happy, yet they die one by one.

I have a royal gramma, lawnmower blenny, yellow watchman goby, neon goby and 3 bar gobies(dartfish), 2 orange skunk clowns.
Soft corals, LPS's, hermit crabs, snails, tons of hitchhikers.

My husband and I saw some tiny silver fish that were schooling together. Now maybe they were just horribly cramped because there were 15 in a 20 gallon tank. But they were super small and really fast. They all swam in patterns together. I dont know what they were sorry, but they were very neat to watch.

you suppose to keep chromis in even numbers or they will kill each other from what i herd.
Weird, I've always heard odd numbers. Hmm....Not sure I am going to try again, anyway.

I have greens now, I can say that they will always thin them sleves out.
Fire fish will school and do fight but its only to a point not to the death.
Hope that helps, good luck.
