Very nice cake and I know how much work it is. My wife did it for a while as a hobby and made a few cakes.

thanx bronco! the towers in this case are not edible - my clients are only feeding about 15-20 pple with this cake, and while i usually do not like to use non-food materials for my cakes, they wanted a really large castle, so as a neat little money-saving trick for them, i covered some cake dummies with fondant to use as the towers.

If you dont mind me asking, what did you charge them for that cake. Just curious considering the amount of work and time you put into it. Truly fantastic cake!

thank you! I don't mind you asking at all - every situation is unique, every cake is its own creature, so pricing varies WIDELY. This particular cake was for a friend's nephew, so she got the friendsfamily discount - and since she came to pick it up herself that made it even more of a great deal. normally, however, something like this would be $350-$400. I happen to be pretty reasonable for my area - being that we are so close to New York, people can get away with STARTING at $300 for a cake, and if you've ever seen the Food Network show Ace of Cakes, their cakes start at $500
I'm more about working with people and making them happy.

thats great! my moms friend does stuff like that just for fun. its also her job. i remember for my brothers 4th birthday she made a cake with those hunny grahm bears, they bears on the cake were at a pool party. they had life-savers as floats, clear blue icing as the water, and loads of other fun stuffs. and every year she and her friends have this huge cookie bakeoff. in one weekend we counted up 2,344 cookies.
