How old, how many gallons have run through the Tap Water Filter....They run out at about 50-200 gallons, depending on how bad the water is to begin with...May need to change filter cartridge..

Man, thats a tough one then... I have never liked buffers though.
Do you drip Kalk? If not, that is one way to raise PH. Not really what it is for, but it will raise your ph. Might be risky though. I am tapped out for ideas for you. Everyone has already stated what I thought... Sorry

Have you checked the CO2 level in your water??
As I said earlier, there is a direct relationship between alkalinity and pH. If, when you added salt and the ALK went up and the pH didn't there has to be something in the water that will only affect pH. It is my understanding that high levels of C02 in the water can do this.
