I am missing something

My lettuce nudibranch disappeared! No clue were he went. It is a big one 2 1/2 inches or so. Ihave looked everywhere. could he have crawled out? Eaten? Pump got him? No clue, he was one of our favorite things in the tank.

he could be hiding.
do you have enough food in the tank for it.
I have never had luck keeping them alive for some reason just never could and have not figured out why either. same as with you I introduce them into the tank they are fine for awhile then disapear never to be seen again.

Same here.....BUT lettuce nudibranch's ONLY eat bryopsis....and there is no way to suppliment their diet
SOOOOO if you have bryopsis, they will last until it is gone...then they will wither away

He sure seemed healthy. He was our best cleaner by far. I have checked the pumps, filters, rocks... Nada. Nothing. Zero. He just vanished into thin water? Lol. I dont think I have anything in my tank that would kill and eat it? Oh! And Sorry to hear about your cleaner wrasse Meowzer. That really sucks to buy a fish and lose it in the same day.

I have had a few lettuce nudis...some stuck around for a little while and did the job....then faded away :( others I put in and NEVER saw it again :(
thanks....I'm still annoyed about it...LOL...but what can ya do...nada

I got a question for you Meowzer. We are thinking of adding something odd to our CUC and would like an educated oppinion on it. What do you think of adding a sand dollar or two? We are literally minutes from the beach and they are easy to catch. Just thinking about sand turnover and such. I realize the risk of wild caught stuff and I can QT them in a bucket for a little while so they can rinse themselves out. In my mind it sounds like a great idea. My brother has one and it seems to be working good for him. He has had it for about 2 months. Let it fly!

I really do not know anything about them...except it is illegal in some places to collect them...and their survival rate in the home aquarium is minimal...IMO I would leave them in the ocean
IF you want sand sifters get nassarius snails, a tiger sand conch (LOVE MINE) or a regular florida fighting conch (get big) IMO these are the best things for sand maintenance

We are looking for a couple tigers. We have a few nassarius in the tank already but the hermits are really hard on them. The other snails are more interested in the rock and glass.

yeah hermits suck...LOL....I have a few MONSTROUS ones that I would like to get rid of...just for that reason

We have LOTS of hermits! We are going to give several to my brother next week along with a couple snails to start his cuc. He has had his tank for over a year and no cuc except that one sand dollar. With my luck the hermits I give him will eat his sand dollar...:flame:
