yes. one of the many mistakes. i still have caulerpa in my tanks

why do you still have it in your tanks?
Did you take out the calurpa and replace with chaeto all at once from you ecosys?

i put down 3 different kinds in my fuge in the beginning: chaeto, caulerpa, and some other red stuff.
quickly learned about caulerpa and took it out. most of it, so i thought. of course lil strands remained and they multiplied ever since and i have been unable to totally rid of it.

so when I move my ecosys over to my new tank should I get rid of calurpa all together?
Haven't had trouble with it. Harvest a decent amount every month or so.......

well if it hasn't given you trouble then i guess it's fine. but i prefer maintaining a certain look in my refugium as you can see in my pictures. i display my refuge.

caulerpa sticks to rocks and go sexual, just a lot of work. not good for bums like us.

then the whole point of 'growing macroalgae to [remove nutrient]' is lost.
you have to physically remove macroalgaes in order to do so.

I have had zero problems. Harvest every month or so. I have been thinking about replacing it, but just never get around to it. I was going to get some from a former member, but never got back to him.
I guess it depends on the tank.

i dropped one tiny bit of caulerpa into my main for my chevon tang. tang didn't eat it so it floated around and i forgot about it. two months later i had this rock covered with caulerpa
