Depends on the dog. We already had our cat when we got our dog, so she grew up around cats from the time she was a tiny puppy. She harasses the cat and annoys the @!&*% out of him, but not in an agressive or violent way.
I bottle fed and raised my cat from a 1 week old kitten after his mom (a stray) got killed by a car. I love him dearly, but once he passes, I won't get another cat because I hate dealing with the litterbox.
