Don't assume sharks know everything. The members give just as good advice as the moderators do :)

That's it.....you are banned.:D ;)
I don't believe a lot of the majano IDs are 100% positively right....majanos are usually greenish, but the brown guys look just like them. There are thousands of little anemones in the sea, and many don't even have a name yet.

Steele,
This is what I have in my tank. I am not sure if it is aptasia or not. It's tentacles are "banded" which I have been told in not aptasia, but I an still not sure. Maybe a curly Q?

Dont know the propper name but i can tell you i dont think it isaptasia- they can be pesky- but they dont reproduce nearly as fast as the common aptasia do- they are easier to kill too:)

Here is an aiptasia from my tank...banded arms. I used to have a nice looking green one that I kind of wanted to keep......it died.

ya i heve seen several with the bands- one aptasia i saw when i worked at the LFS had various colors- red green and yellow- it was pretty sweet- but some guy bought it - (it came in on the LR) despite knowing its reproductive rate so.... sure enought a month later he was back in asking how to get rid of them:rolleyes:

funny you sayit died-
we try everything short of pouring gas in the tank to kill them- then when you want it - it dies

I only thought it might not be aptasia becuz I had a curly q that disappeared. Then this showed up in the tank 6 mo later and I have added nothing new to the tank. But I guess curly q's aren't great either or are related or something. He has been there for about 2 mo with no new ones yet.

yep...that's always the way....it was actually about identical to the one Bang Guy keeps. I had it for about three years and it never reproduced once.
