the best part is.. the only tool used was a Dremel! Diamond point bits for a dremel tool go a long way!
I like the open-ness of it.. easy to get to, easy to clean!
Blacked out the fuge, and made a cardboard cover to block 99% of light. I had to do a little re-arranging in the room, but it really worked out..
Im glad u all like it.. Its the first thing that has totally gone my way in this hobby! LOL
Now I just need some lr for the fuge.. and of course move the low-level cut off to the fuge..

Looks good, nice job.
IMO you could put live rock in both the sump and the fuge. Just a thought. I think the cut off should be fine in the sump. The water levels should be the same in both tanks with that set up right ?? Plus if you do put it in the fuge you have to make sure the macro does not overgrow it and cause it not to work .

i am so excited that i finally got this project done.. i have been procrastinating for the longest!
took me about an hour to cut the sump using the dremel, but it was nice and cheap (already had all the tools!)
did I mention that the store i got it from didnt have it in their upc scanning system, so i ended up getting it for under $30? You gotta love meijers!!! the department store thats open 24/7!
original price for the dremel was $75.. what a deal! no price tag + cashier in a hurry = hooray for me! LOL

congrats man!! looks sweet...i am jelous....one day i will have something that looks like that....i just am gonna have to deal with my regular tank for a while....i did pick up a protien skimmer today though i think it is more compact than the last one i had so hopefully it'll work!!!

Can you play with the shutter speed on your digital? You can probably do better with that than the night mode. I have an olympus digi that i can set the shutter speed on and it takes awesome low-light pictures.

Understandable. I like digital because its easy to point and shoot. You can still do the nice shutter speed stuff but nothing beats a 35 mm SLR. Ive got an AE-1 that takes amazing photos. Digital cant touch the quality of film.... This is one case where analog beats digital flat out. :joy:
