Well I did it, I just bought a Red Sea Berlin Turbo Protein Skimmer, 55 lbs of live rock (precured) and 50 lbs of live sand. Should arrive tomorrow. I hope I did the right thing
45 gal new f/o tank, cycle hasn't started yet

one question, do i leave my CC in their and put the LS ontop of it or do i compltely remove it?

Either way. Probably better to remove the CC and put the LS in its place.

Good buy!! but when you get the skimmer dont use it until the cycle its over

I'll say it - good start but cycle the tank (with "pioneer" fish or the fresh shrimp method) BEFORE stocking it with your ultimate fish. (I hope you already know this but there are a lot of posts from people who are jumping the gun to get a fully stocked tank.)

I agree with Salt trigger. You should probably have the skimmer off during cycle or else it will prolong your cycling.
