I did something stupid

As a new hobbiest there is so much to learn and many lessons that get learned the hard way. I would like to share something I did my first time around several years ago.
Maybe some of you will get a laugh.
I was at my lfs and I kept seeing these little brown anemones in the tanks and I talked to the guy at the store and said that I was interested but couldnt find prices on any of them. He proceded to look around and try to find a price for them and then came back and said hey man I will give you 2 for 10 bucks and I said no way man I will give you $8 and that was how I introduced aptasia to my first reef. I even fed those darn things...

LOL!
You're not alone. I've stopped people in LFS's from buying "baby bubble tip anemones" AKA Majano anemones.

Ha Ha, I did the same thing about 8 years ago when I set up my first tank. I saw a piece of live rock that had several Aptasia on it so I bought that rock thinking I was getting a good deal. The LFS actually told me that when they get bigger they will host clownfish. I learned my lesson real quick LOL. Hopefully yours are gone now.

Sorry to say Willie I believe you are the winner, paying for Aptasia, is the best. Did you ever go back to that store and give that heck?

Nope, took my business elsewhere. Funny actually that incident was why I joined swf.com so that I wouldnt have something like that happen again. I have researched every purchase I've made since then here first.

LOL...Well now I know I am not alone. I saw a quarter size beautiful blue one and asked about the price...BUT the LFS guy informed me it was an aptasia and not for sale, and that it was a dangerous invasive pest, and thanks for pointing it out so he could kill it. I have seen those buggers plenty over the years since, but never a blue one like that.

Flower how did you handle that a Ya Hey dare moving to FIB country.

LOL...I always worked in Illinois (35+ years), the only reason I moved to Wisconsin is because it was what Dan called an outlaw state...Dan had no driving privledges in Illinois, so he got a Wisconsin license. (I understand they are now connected for DMV so that won't work anymore) I had to drive over an hour one way to work...61 miles.
When Dan and I split... I moved close to work, just over the boarder. Dan died last year, we were still together but not remarried, so I purchased my little house in Lindenhurst Il. Now last March, I became disabled...Now I can live anywhere...but I have my house now, so here I will remain. All my kids and grandkids are living in Wisconsin, 2 hours away from me.
Now I have to have my exhaust tested each year...Not so in Wisconsin
Deal with the rules of living in a subdivision, LOL...a guy with a ruler must come out to measure the grass, if it's too tall even by the fence..you get a warning ticket...I miss the country, where a backyard can be an old car lot....LOL
I will not however miss the rude drivers of Wisconsin, you could be waiting to get out of a parking lot, and the drivers stopping at a red light, going nowhere
would close off the opening, pulling on top of the car ahead of them so I couldn't get out...looking right at me. In Illinois they don't do that, they even stop and let you out sometimes, but never close off the opening at a light.

Sorry to here of your hard pilot, hope your health is doing good and your children and grand kids. As for driving in Illinois you must live south of Joliet, because around my area all those things happen. I drive into Chicago every day and if I don't get cut off once I think something is wrong. And if you don't see a guy run across three lanes and then back with in 1/2 mile stretch it not a normal day. I wish our subdivision had rules, the guy next store had 9 abandoned cars in is drive way, good news there are only two left. The funny thing is that they both have big yellow county stickers on them that have faded so bad you can't read them anymore. The guy on the other side mowes his lawn once a month even if it needs it or not.
