I'd like to say I do about 20% every 4-6 weeks, but its rare that that happens, if ever, right now its going on 3 months and I havent even started mixing water yet  Ill probably get around to it tomorrow. Sorry, Im just a real lazy reefer ;) IMO you can go a little longer, maybe indefinitely, when you have a mature tank with a DSB, reactor, big skimmer, ect.

sorry dad, i ran outta rocks, right after i saw your name, anyone who manages to break the year barrier with an anemone is doing something right, even if all others feel it is wrong, they are a true test IMO
n.e.how, we do @ 5 gal a week in our 75, with no skimmer and no filter(except bio's)

Carrying a habit over from 30 years of breeding fresh water fish, I do about a 5% change once a week So far, so good.

I change out about 15-20g in my reef and about 5 in my FO. I only have 27g actual water in it, no sump like the reef. Usually works out to be about a month or two in between changes.

It's been over a year since I actually did one,but I do add about one gallon per day to replace eveporation.I also dose weekl with coralvite to replace trace elements.I agree that with a good mature tank, large quality skimmer,DSB,live rock, and (in my case) a good algae refugium, water changes are not needed.Must be doing something right though,My nitrates rarly go over 15,and I have THREE anemones that have been in there for over a year.
