Do you have a job? You could always ask them to match the money you save. parents love that "show me how responsible you can be" type of stuff. You could also sell your old set up. You never know who might be looking for a set up like yours.Your chances of selling are even better near Christmas. You could look for used equipment.That'll same them some money.You could also look for a complete used set-up.Worst comes to worst you can trade the lion for a smaller one or sell it and buy a new one.......Woo! I'm full of ideas......Maybe I'm just plain full of it.

Now, arent we glad we didnt run out and buy those sharks and rays??? I dont want to say ITYS, but thats why we wait until we have the equipment running before we buy. This is a classic example of what can happen and everyone can learn from it. The best intentions dont mean a thing if you dont have the room.
Sorry to hear about it though. Shark and rays are an infection. You can always do it the old fashioned way and work to pay for it all, or am I showing my age?

my parents are thinking about changing there mind!:joy: . But they are giving me some boring speech about how iam going to collage in 3years So iam thinking about getting a 200-300gal tank when iam done with collage

You could always get like a 30g. and make a reef!! You don't have to have a big tank for a reef. Also gassguzzler my parents have me live my life from those words ( i'm 14 yrs.) "work and pay for it all my self". I do have to say that it does feel better when you buy soemthing yourself with your own money. You also learn to appreciate things better.

Hey bud, Im 15 and I buy all of my crap. Ive got a 30 gallon with live rock, a good skimmer, my own home made fuge type thing packed with rock and bioballs, then I have a 120 which I am still working on. You should really pay for all of it yourself. And, yea, 3 years to college...if u make it, lol. JK. But, like, if u did get a bigger tank, you could always sell yer old one like they said. Or....GET A JOB!!!! Mow lawns, shovel driveways in the winter time. Sell lemonade for crying out loud. Got any old junk? Sell it on ----. U gotta think. Ive been paying for my stuff since I was 12, and I skrewed up so much back then, and lost so much money, I can kick myself for how much I lost. So, if yer parents dont buy it, then y dont u just buy it?

If your parents dont want you to get a larger tank then too bad. Be glad for what you have. Like others have said
