I forgot the wattage to gal ratio when geting a heater.

You raise an interesting point. We assume that all heaters have the same heat output/watt, but that's not necessarily the case.
If you're looking to really hug a tree, I would think that the control on the heater is probably more important than the heating efficiency. Same reason getting an electronic thermostat usually saves you money.

no no, I am not trying to hug a tree... believe me.. I am just trying to save some bucks.

hug a tree? that was funny, but i didnt get it. im with the cheap crowd. I plan to get 2x300watt heaters. Id ike to keep the purchase around 70ish. From wht I can tell plastic and submersible is indeedthe way to go. I would love to blow big bucks on a heater.IMO this is a vital element of the system. I simply feel that two cheap ones will do fine for the next 6 months.
And when I do upgrade to fancy ones...i will put the cheaper ones in a frag tank or something.
