lots-o-snails/hermits
cleaner shrimp
mated coral banded (going into my agressive tank im soon to make
thank you people of the fourums for helping me pick !!!)
coral:
1 hammer head
3 bubble
shrooms(dunno lost count)
1brain coral
1sponge
parameters are:

temp 76-78 varies
calcium aroung higher 600
Lighting: 180 watts with a small depth 55 gallon tank and two power heads for current.
im thinking of bright corals/fish any opinions would be great ^_^
and i like to have bigger fish for about 1 year then i usually trade in for another at a lfs (happen with long horn cowfish
)
thankyou in advance

IMO, let the calcium lower itself over time to around 400-460. Those are the safest levels for a tank. Also, since it seems like your tank is a reef, corals like a little higher salinity than FOWLR. I would recommend raising it a little to around the 1.025-1.026 range.
What kind of lighting is it? PC, T5, T5HO, or MH? This is going to be the decider for what you could possibly keep or not.

And chromis do best in odd numbered groups. Not sure why, but they just do. They will kill one off until its to their liking. For a 55 gallon, I would say go for 3 of them.

How about: (not all, just ideas)
FISH

Purple firefish pair
or if you like to take chances a Fuzzy Dwarf would be cool
CORAL

Fox coral
Some really nice colored ricordias
Mixed zoo rock would be cool
frogspawn
Candycane
Thats what I would get

Actually I'm not shure about the Fuzzy.. He might eat your other fish.

Purple Firefish are cool, I love mine, low maintance too, but they sometime carpet surf I have been told. No issues with mine YET, have had him about 8 or 9months.
Look into having a pair though, seems like I remember reading somewhere, one or at least three. Issues with with pairs one dominating the other badly unless it is a mating pair????....... Warren

haha I have 2 and they do great. Started with three, but that's what you get for buying them at a lfs that has a dead fish in every tank.

i have 5 bluegreen chromis in a 55gal.
They did the 'schooling' effect for the first month or so. but then they all split up. i have a 3 pair that swims and then theres two odd balls that are always solo. But they all are healthy & hardy as heck! LET ME TELL YA all the stuff my tanks gone through.. they're all still there. Best $5 fish i've ever bought!

What fish do you have?? At the top it doesnt say you have a firefish.. I just dont want to give ideas that are not compatable.

I would spend part of it on a QT tank, and, if needed, upgrading equipment...Skimmer, Filtration system, building a sump/refugium, if possible. Boring stuff, but would go a long way to making sure any new fish/corals/other inverts remain healthy. Save the rest of the money, then get what you want once the QT is cycled.

Well, if you like to take chances, get a flame angel! They are a very nice colorful fish. If you want to be a little more on the safe go with a coral beauty.
I personally would go with the flame but you might get a bad one that eats coral... 50/50 chance. If it doesnt work out you can always get a new one

i have had a HORRIBLE death toll with angels........i let the acclimate for 3 1/2 hours by dripping then transfer in a clean net then when they get it somethign always happens and then kills them in 2 days (could be fomr the store i got them from.......i stoped going because they wouldnt tell me their paremeters of their tanks....)
