Hi folks, I just got a new rose bubble tip today and I have a question. I know that it should be fed 2 or 3 times a week and that mysis shrimp is a good diet for it. But how do I feed it ? do ya just put the mysis shrimp in the tank for all to feast on or do I have to get some of the mysis directly in the bta or what ???? I hope it doesn' need to be hand fed cause I don't want to get stung 3 times a week LOL.

I dont have a nem myself, however I see many people do hand feed their's. As far as I can remember you place the meaty tidbit on the tenticles near the mouth. I do advicate getting propper aquarium long gloves an/or feeding tongs. "Saftey first" You mightbe able to use a turkey baster or the extended handled "sea squirt" feeder. "just guessing though."

I use tongs, and I feed mine raw scallops.....all you need to do is touch the anemones tentacles....a healthy anemone will be sticky, and should take the food ..DO NOT feed LARGE pieces...never feed anything bigger then it's mouth IMO feed a couple smaller pieces rather then 1 large
works for me

wow cool ,,,, I didn't have any tongs but I do have a turkey baster that I use for dusting my rocks. Well I melted down some mysis shrimp and kinda squirted it just up stream from it and it must have worked by the way it wiggled and moved around I could tell it was eating.Pretty cool stuff.

Well I've had him for about a week and a half now and I think I got a dingbat. LOL The first 2 days all was normal, then I checked it out again in the morning, and it moved on the same rock but then it was on the side of the rock, so I rolled the rock a little so it was on the top again. Now the goofy thing moved again to the bottom of the rock and its upside down. { Very hard to drop food in it when its upside down } Should I move it again or just let it go where it wants ???
Thanks
Jeff

You can squirt it right on it...it will open wide and eat. You can look down into it. Cover all your power heads! don't feed or bother it until it finds a happy place to stay.

All my power heads have strainers on them so nothing can get in them. I made sure of that right away. But with it being upside down I havn't figured out how to feed it yet. I guess I'll just leave it alone for a while and see how it goes. The other thing that gets me is when I first put it in, my clowns started getting friendly with it but after 2 or 3 days they havn't gone near it. Maybe they are waiting for it to find its happy place too.
Thanks for your input,
Jeff

Good, the power heads being covered is so important, so I always say it. Kind of create a current of water with your hand to upright it a bit. It shouldn't be face down for too long, that can't be good. They do expel the water from themselves and look dead, then re-inflate

I don't know but I still think I got a goofball. It's still on the origanal rock as when I got it, But it moved around the side of it and is between 2 rocks. You can only see a couple of its tentacles sticking out. I'm wondering if maybe there's to much current where it is Or.maybe i should move the powerhead a little bit more away from it. Or maybe move the rock its living on to a diffrent part of the tank. I wish I could read its mind .
Frustrated,
Jeff

I'd just leave it be as well. Mine (I have three) all moved around for a few days at a time. Now they all have their foot under a shelf and they stretch their bodies out, around and up to face the top.
