I got a nudibranch today to eat some algae. I was wondering if it was a bad idea. It is ugly brown with purple antenna. I was told he eats only algae and I know they have a problem with starvation, but I have alot of algae so thats no problem. I was told repeatedly that they were not poisounous and were reef safe.
I have a 55 4 month old tank and good water quality and I have 2 damsels and one algae blenny and some inverts.
What do you all think?

He wont do any harm, and my experience is they usually end up dead sucked to the filter intake.
I like them for looks, so I guess my answer is if you're going to get one, dont get an ugly one!
FYI My LFS gets $8 for a green goddess nudi.

getting one for your algae would not hurt any, but if you are getting them to keep, that is another story, they do not keep well, but will eat everything they can(that is in their diet), as long as they are around, one good thing about nudis is htey generally only eat one thing, so if you got one for algae, then it definitely won't be a prob for anythign else ;)
