Today, at Aqua-Holics (the LFS), i took at look at their eels, and i saw one that struck me as special. i watched him for about 20 minutes, then i decided, and i baught him. He is soo cool, and he loves my tank setup!!! Here are some pictures. IDK what i should name him, i was thinking Colonel Popadopolis...IDK, give me suggestion if you have a good, random, funny name (other pet names include Hobo, Jumbuliah, Scrotum, and Fizzball)

Nice eel but the tank looks very small for him. Most eels i have researched need around 100 gallons. What size is your tank?

First thing, you need to find a species ID. If you can get some more pics, I can problably help with that.
Secondly...you need to fill your tank.

Umm... did you QT the eel?

Nice eel though. Like was suggested, however, you need to ID it. In fact, never buy anything until you have a solid ID.

Without you even knowing the species, how are you able to say that "marine center says it'll be ok for a year or so"?

need to acclimate the fish/eel into the qt then keep for 2-3 weeks there. 2 hours acclimation isn't quarantining...

Thankfully, Morays are immune to 99.9% of all fish disease. IMO, Moray species do not need to be QT'd.

yes, but his other posts made me believe he had set upthe qt, put the eel in it for 2 hours, then put right into this DT.

Ruben (my buddy at AquaHolics) said that he didnt have to be acclimated at all, that he is hardy enough to be thrown right in, and he also did mention that he cannot get any diseases that fish can get. But i mean , isnt the name of the eel Philipino (phillipino...idk how to spell it but you get my drift..lol)
