Welcome to the boards!! Ich is a nasty parasite. Please read about it in Beth's link above. Learn about the life cycle of it.

I bought Kick Ich for an outbreak and it did absolutley nothing. In fact, I feel my tank is worse because of this product. My fish that did get Ich have since died and now others have it and I cannot seem to get rid of it with anything I do.

How do I get the ich out of the water? I am planning on putting my four fish in a QT tank but how do I get the parasite out of the water so when I do get ready to put them back in the tank it isn't present? What should I do while all my mushrooms, corals and anemones? PLEASE let me know.
Thanks you guys!

Hi and welcome,
Kick ick does work, and it won't hurt your tank critters. I have used it meny times over the years. You can't have carbon in the filtering or it will not work. That's the only thing that I can think of that stops the medicine.
Kick ick is not an instant treatment, it takes about a week. Ick shouldn't kill that quickly, maybe you have other issues.
Powder blue tangs are prone to ick, but I am not sure about brown powders.
There is another product out there made by Jungle. They have one for saltwater and one for fresh so make sure you get the right one ( the wrong one will kill inverts) . It is tablets that sit in a small net and fizzes like alka setlzer. It works pretty good too. Do water changes after treatment.
Good luck.

Just wanted to let you know, I had / have the same problem. I also have a powder brown tank. Mine got ick pretty bad. I used quICK cure. It worked very well. As I read earlier, you do have to take the carbon out of the filter. All of my fish got rid of the ick except my blue hippo. He can't shake it. I don't understand it.
I hope you can get rid of it. It's a nasty thing.
