hello,

i have been battling ick know for about two months and know i got this.

its like a fungus or ick on his mouth. his mouth is really swollen and over all its like all his energy has been draned. i have been treating for ick with a coper based drug(quick cure) that has been proven efective before. it was working for the longest time and now the ick has flared up and has gotten a little and coverd the right side of my trigger. the reason i am concerned it that i have heard that fungus can be very lethal if it gets in the mouth. i am at the last straw with thes diseses befor i go out and buy copper wich is not something i would like to do.

thisa picture of the fungus it hase been ther for over two weeks now. any help to solve the problem is great.

The pictures are not so good to tell exactly if that ich. You are treating in your display tank?? I suggest you immediately quit using quick cure in your display tank if so. The ingredients are lethal to your biofilter in your aquarium.

Can you describe your what you are seeing in more detail? The only spot I can see is on the top fin of the trigger.

Could you possibly have lymphocystis? See the pictures and info here:

to update, i have the fish in my qt. the spot today just disappeared on the trigger but not from the angel. the angel is acting normal but still has the spot. if you look at the bottom right of the emporator angel you will see what i am talking about.

So, did you look at the info I posted above?
yes i did and i believ the trigger has a realy bad case of lymphocystis not ich. although the emporator has a mixture of ich and lymphocystis. i will continue to treat with the ich medication and then after i will maintain pristine water until it finishes its cycle. is it ok if i keep the two fish together during this time?

Are these the only two fish that you have? If you have ich, then all fish must be treated. I would suggest using hyposalinity rather quick cure. Is you quarantine tank well cycled?

i have tryed hyp twice and the first time it worked great but the second it just flat out did nothing. the reason i did it a second time was because the qt was not big enough so the water went bad fast so i had to pick and chose wich fish got to stay in the qt and what fish got to go bach in the ich infested tank. so the fish hung on long enough so that i could get the water good and get the more ich prone fish out. those fish stayed in the qt until i got an upgrade for my qt. it went from a 10 to a 15. so i took all the water and filters and put it on the 15 then i added the fish and every thing has been good sence then and now i got lymphocystis and the ich is just about gone. ther is a cleaner wrass but he will be moved out so that he does not get infected and the water will be eezyr to mantain. the quick cure was the only thing i could think of power full enough to beet the ich besides coper.

If will follow the advise posted in the article above, the lymphocycstis should be controlled well. You have to provide a good living environment for the fish and quality food.
