OMG, I just got back to my LFS.... $600 later I picked up some new LR + a reef lighting system, that has three different lights, and a fan, also I decided to go for a Wet/Dry filtration system with a Protein skimmer...
One question about the new filter, 1. Does anyone use this type of system? If so, how do you like it and did you need to do anything to have it configured to fit you tank properly? I set it up but the 1 hose the give you is rather short so it is like impossible to attached the jet pump that sits in the tank to the galss.... Right now I have it kinf of sitting in the tank.... wanted to get some feedback and talk about my new toys..... I am so friggin addicted to this new hobby....

I'm glad you are addicted to the hobby! Your excitement means that you are more than likely very dedicated!
Some people would disagree with me, but I say get rid of the wet/dry filter. A simple hang-on filter will do the job just fine, requires less maintainance, and doesn't pose the problems that many experts agree that a wet/dry causes.

.... well as the guy on top said.. some people dont like them.. but u know what.. i do.... i think they are perfectly fine.. and for the ose problem u have (of it being short) well.. they usually give u think 3' cr*p ... anyhow.. if it was the swimming pool kind with ridges.. u are better off ridding og it anyways (they are very loud) and better off going to h. depo and getting some other flexible one they is not ribbed.... people say that wet/dry's are nitrate traps but i dont have that ptoblem.. i have a floss filter thing they go's on my dripplate before the water falls on my bio-ball.. and it cleans out the big stuff from the water so it dont get stuck in the balls.. i swapt this filter out bi-weekly.. (take literally 30 sec) and that about all i do.. gl and hf with the new toys
