So I filled my new tank with fw and I saw no leaks after watching it for almost a week... After I put the salt and some LR, a tiny pin hole leak appeared and I had to drain all the water and put my LR in a 35gal rubbermaid container. I have heater rated for 30 gal, so I put it in the container. The heater doesnt have numbers on the temp adjustment dial, its just + or -
I was in a rush because I was getting ready for work when I saw the leak. When I came home, my water was prolly well over 80 degrees (didnt have thermometer in there cause I was in a rush)... Did I kill my LR by cooking it?

Btw, I just came home like 5 min ago, but at the moment, it doesnt stink, there is a very slight smell, but not a horrible stench, you really gotta try to smell it.
(the heater is off for now, I work nights, so after I come home its bed time right away) I unplugged it because I will not be awake to keep an eye on the temp
Its a brand new heater, never used before, so I haddent had time to get it dialed in yet

80 won't cook your rock...you should be fine. My whole tank reached 90 for a day once and all was well.

Yep, I have had my heater cook my tank to 92 and unbelievably, absolutely nothing died and the live rock was unharmed. Even with the temp going up to the mid 80's should be fine.

Whew! Im glad to hear it should be fine cause I already had some little things growing on a couple of them. I only have a few rocks at the moment, but I already had my face pushed against the glass watching the life on them ) ooohhh boy, I can tell this hobby will get addicting hahaha
Anyhoo, thank you, I feel a little better now
