MOVE YOUR ROCK:D SORRY JUST KIDDING. I REALLY DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT EELS, SO SOMEONE ELSE WILL PROBABLY GIVE BETTER ADVICE THAN ME, BUT TRY FEEDING HIM HIS FAVORITE FOOD IN THE SAME SPOT AT THE SAME TIME FOR A COUPLE OF DAY'S AND WHEN HE GETS USED TO YOU DOING THAT, SNAG HIM WITH A NET (OR JUST MOVE THE ROCK:D )

The eel is in its teritory and the only way that I know to get them out is to remove the rocks and then catch him. but even without any rock he can be a slippery mess to catch.
I have had to do it a couple of times before and its not fun but the best way to do it

I had to help a buddy with a 180, getting a snowflake eel out. It was eating all of his clownfish, expensive food. Well the secret is to get 2 nest and try and corner it and scare it and stuff we ended up moving the rocks, sorry but this is the way we did it.

Just move the rock and be done with it if your in a hurry. That is about the easiest and the fastest way to get them out. You may lure them out with the food , but as soon as the net starts heading toward them they are going to be back in the rock work.
To bad you were not closer to me, I have been looking for a larger chainlink and a zebra.

Moving rock I know is a pain, but I took out the rock that my snowflake live in (without having to rearrange), put it into my trusty SW bucket full of water from the tank, and about 5 minutes or less it was out (I did move the rock around a little in the bucket, basically to "make him mad"). It came out and the I took the rock out and placed it back into the tank----now I was left with a bucket of SW and an eel, netted and bagged it and returned to LFS. HTH
