I understand that you had an infection however sometimes the infection is not treated completely therefore it becomes an absess ....my daughter had to have a root canal and she kept complaining about the pain and I thought that it was just her as i was giving her the pain medicine. That night the absess ruptured and that was that the pain was gone but I felt like hell. I realized then that everyones pain is real and needs to be treated accordingly. So you be persistent in the fact that it is not tolerable and the medicine is not working for you. I hope this helps.

thanks guys I called unfortunately they close at 4:00, and the dentist already left. They said if the pain gets unbearable go to the emergency room, and they will see me first thing in the morning either way. I did tell them the pain was already unbearable.

Sorry nemo...you could try the tylenol and motrin rotation. That may get you through the day until they can see you in the morning. I hate a tooth ache more than an ear ache.

thanks itchy- I took advil last night they told me no tylenol!! I don't know why? I like it more. I getting ready now to go. My face is a bit swollen this morning, and I still have pain. Ill keep you posted.

Said my bite was wrong, so thet fixed it. also that I have two absess, they said one is festering.OWCHH owwch they took off the temp, and drilled down to it and stuck a needle in their to pop it but it didn't pop. They said it will pop in the next couple of days, and to sleep with my head up right so it will drain out, and not up? They gave me stronger antibiotics, and pain meds. I don't feel anything right now my face is still numb. I'm gonna try to go to sleep. It sucks my husband has to miss work again to take care of me, and the kids. I should have planned the rootcanals on a friday. duh I will know for future reference.

Sorry that you are in so much pain but I remember the pain my daughter was in with hers and for a 8 yr old it was terrible. I was furious simply because my daughters could have been avoided if they would have fixed the tooth in the begining. Well the good thing is now you have stronger meds and can get some good sleep. Hope you feel better....umm maybe they didn't want you to take tylenol because it can thin the blood and make it harder for the place to clot. I always told patients not to take aspirin..never thought about tylenol...ummm

Hey guys haven't been around the last two days. I am feeling a little bit better. I must have real bad luck. First my teeth, then my daughter had an allergic reaction to itallian dressing, then Thursday night my computer crashed. Now I am Broke!!!
Not tryin to be gross but my absess came to the surface of my gums, I had my husband use a q-tip and pop it. The pressure realif was great, but the taste made me gag. uhg uhkk.. I am very hungry, I wish I could eat something solid, but my mouth is so sore I can't open it much, not to mention I wouldn't be able to chew good.
I reccomend any one wanting to loose weight, get two root canals. hah! You'll loose weight. I have lost five pounds since Tuesday. Now I only need to loose fifteen more.lol
