I hate turbo snails!

I just reluctantly put Turbos in my new tank about 3 weeks ago because they were out of astreas at my lfs (as usual), and just like my first tank some of them constantly tip over and die. Also they don't seem as active as the astreas or margaritas. Any one else have this problem or am I crazy! My lfs thinks I am. Also how do turbo snails stay alive in the wild oceans with the currents and God knows what else that may tip them over?

My turbo snails fall over all the time and I never help them. They always get back on there "feet". You must have some retarded turbos.

In the ocean they don't climb glass:D
You may need to raise your salinity...low salinty will make them fall, and die.Keeping your SG. at 1.025/35 ppt will help.

I must have the relatives of your snails in my tank as well.

My salinity is high enough,.... I've read that they can't flip themselves over except the mexican turbos. I still wonder then how they live in the ocean? Any way I still hate them and I'm sticking with astreas.

High calcium levels will cause them to constantly fall off the glass too.
Just a guess, but in the wild the sand isn't all flat, so they can flip themselves over more easily. And the rocks aren't as smooth and slippery as our glass.

I have one Turbo that turns himself over a lot, but just one of them. I usually help him up, but yesterday he fell in place where I could not get him (behind some rocks) without moving everything. I think I will let him fend for himself this time and see what happens. If he does bit the big one, should I take him out or while my hermit crabs make a meal of him?
