So firstly, I've had my tank set up for about 4 months now, live rock, a few coral (waiting on more) peppermint shrimp, snails, emerald crab, blue legged hermit crab, scarlet hermit crab, yellow gobies, clown fish, firefish. All my water levels are good and have been for awhile now.
Question #1 - I have these little reddish brown things growing everywhere, not in massive quantities, they are just all over my rock and today I noticed one on a snail shell and on the trunk of my pulsating xenia. They are very small, maybe 1/16 to 1/8 inch and they look like the tip of a soft service ice cream cone, like a "curly q" kind of shape and they are very hard. What is this?
Question #2 - I've noticed on the back wall of my tank and also on some of my rock these little white rings, very small, they come off quite easy, but I don't know where they come from. What is this?
Question #3 - I'm almost certain I saw a flat worm, I got a pair of tweezers and when I went to pluck it, it was gone in a shot. Do they move that fast, I couldn't get a great look at it, mostly a silhouette, it looked long a slender. Do you think it was a flat worm?
Question #4 - What's the best way to get rid of all 3 if in fact they are some sort of pest. I'd prefer to use natural solutions, i.e. fish, inverts, etc. rather than chemicals, I'm new to all of this and I don't want to upset the balance in my tank.
I can't take a picture until tomorrow after my camera charges, it died just as I was trying to take a picture. If you think its necessary then I'll take one tomorrow.
