I have a 35 gal hex tank where should I put the power head???

I have it up top pointing up and the water is real cloudy dont know if its working against the protien skimmer

It would not work against the skimmer. What is your setup like? Fish, equipment, etc?

I have a 35 G hex saltwater tank and I too had problems with cloudy water. I put a power head at the bottom that circulates the water around to the filter tube that extends to the bottom of the tank. My water has been crystal clear for years. Try it!
