Funny you should ask
The upside down jelly, Cassiopeia xamachana
, is not going to be a wise idea for the reef tank. These animals are found connected to the roots of mangroves in tropical waters; the flow of a reef tank is not going to be good for them I would think.
They will feed on plankton and also, since jelly fish are in the coral family, will require MH lighting to invoke photosynthesis. They are also toxic with their stings, and I would be concerned with other reef inhabitants.
Here is an interesting read on them. You can buy these online, and I would think that properly housed and fed you would do well.

you don't want one. i recently bought 2. they lasted about a week. since they primarily lay at the bottom of the tank, they are suppose to be safe from overflows and powerheads... not mine. as soon as i added them, one managed to find the overflow. i saved him after he made it to my sump and stock to my skimmer intake still alive. the biggest problem is they will go up to where water jets out and just got shot around the tank right into the glass. my flow was down extremely low then too in hopes of preventing just that. it still didn't work. after day 2, one just magically disappeared. noooo clue where it went. i checked everywhere. i think a hermit ate it... the second one ended up getting stuck to the inlet of a low flow powerfilter where it was then died. the only thing i could see these guys living in for more than a week is a tank specifically made for jellyfish. and one that is, cannot support coral (flow issues). save your money and the jellyfishes life, buy something else.
