i have a yellow tang in 10g

its my hospital tank.. he has ick., i think :notsure: .woudnt the small space stress him out?. i have to leave him in there till hes all better be4 i put him back in my main tank again...he has been in the 10g 2 days now. hes doing great!!!!!..swims around not acting shy,comes right up to the tank when i get close to it.. he is eating more then he ever has in the 10g, then my main tank :thinking: .. all other fish in my main tank are doing good, no signs of ick..... i dont even think the tang had ick,, he had this weird growth on his fin getn bigger and bigger every day.. i didnt want to take any chances so i stuck the tang in my 10g hospital... i didnt even treat the 10g tank and the growth looks like its going away :thinking:

hope everything works out for the fish. Just make sure that you use garlic on the food to help him fight infection and parasites.

Well you have two options at this point either you treat the tank or put him back but if he does have ich then you will be putting the other fish at risk. Ich will appear to get better as the spots will fall off during a phase of their life where they attach themselves to substate and go dormant untill they hatch again releasing hundreds of new bugs which will search out a new host. Its best if your fish is doing ok not to take any chances and treat him. I have all my fish from my 180 in QT right now from ich that I thought "went away" can you imagine a blue hippo, purple tang, 2 clowns, and a goby sharing a 10g, not something I ever wanted to do.

IMO...10 gallon QT tank is no place for a yellow tang for a month. I beleive QT tanks can be counter-productive in many cases. Stress is a leading cause for disease if present and placing an animal in a tiny cube for amonth or slightly longer can lead to stress.
