My ? is can i treat my tank with ich med. if i have a star fish or will the star fish die .. im not taking the fish out of the main tank if one has ich.. Because id rather treat the whole tank and do water change and filter change.. i have a hospital tank i can put the star fish in there if i have too.. i only put the fish in if they are sick from something else other then ich.. because if ich is in the tank you have to treat all the fish anyway.. help me out here.. thanks for the help..

Depends on what's in the main tank. inverts? live rock, live sand etc. Don't want any meds in there with copper if you have that stuff in your tank

you can use a product called kick ick totally reef safe wont hurt starfish at all check lfs most places carry it

one hit/miss would be to purchase the garlic stuff sold in some LFS's...or go to GNC & aquire the garlic extract stuff...you'd probably have to administer semi-regularly though; I don't think it rids the tank of various stages of ich

Thanks guys for you help. well i have been watching the fish that i thought had ich, he or she does not have it. Tank goodness, it was a buttefly angel fish i bought it two weeks ago. it doing fine now. Thanks for the info..
