Not sure if that's good or bad, but I have about 100 baby snails. I got a new snail the other day (turbo) and it's an eating machine!! She's like a lawn mower! Every now and then a little tiny thing would float away from her. I was teasing my husband they were probably babies. The next day I was a little bothered that things were floating around my tank. Usually it's crystal clear. Then this morning about 100 little white dots were scuttering around on my glass. they look like little white tad poles. I called the LFS, the lady that answered wasn't the expert guy I like, but she said they were snails, but didn't think they would do any damage but to call the expert guy tomorrow.

I'm no expert either, but I think they are a filter feeder. I forgot what they were, but they are more than likely not baby snails. Yes they are harmless.

My LFS said they were probably snails, she said flat worms are more clear than white and look like fleas. These things are white and if you look real close you can see two antenas, eye things what ever they are. They do look like snails. Most of them have been sucked up in the filter though. They will all die when I switch my tank over though.
My LFS said anything stuck on the glass is usually not harmful, Do you agree?

i believe that u probably have the baby snails too. i had a bunch in my tank when it was first set up, cuz i took water and rock from my mom's tank. when you move your tank, if you siphon the water out and suck up as many of the babies that you can off the glass into the same bucket the rock is in, you may be able to keep a few more. that's what i did and i still have some of the little guys!

I would disagree that anything on the glass is not harmful. It may not be an immediate threat to anything but I have flatworms in my tank and I didn't notice until they were on the glass. Some of them are clear, some are white, and some are red. They are round on one end and have two points on the other end and they move just like a snail moves. The center is usually a different, darker color from the outside. The clear ones aren't a threat, but the reddish ones are.
Just my 2 cents.

If they are flat worms and not snails, are they bad? Should I get rid of them just in case? And I'm learning to not believe everything the LFS guy says. Thats why I come here
But I am also learning which LFS guys know what they are talking about, and which ones don't.
