No it doesn't. I keep it low on purpose. The bala shark is about as twitchy as a firefish. I don't keep it high so that there is less of a risk of him accidentally jumping. He startles easily and doesn't actually try to jump, but he sometimes gets a little too close to popping his head out of the water.

HAHA! It does look that way right? It isn't dust. It gets moisture build up under the lid. It is very noticeable because it is all glass. The light is not from that tank. It is actually an old light off of an old 20. I could probably shine the top up more though. Eh, not tonight
