Nice looking zoo's
It's also very addictive to frag them and send them to the moderators

Teresa I am right there with you. I have added 14 new SPS pieces ranging from small frags to pieces about 3 inches or so in the last 4 months. I am so addicted I purposely leave my credit cards at home when I go to the store. But the good thing is is that my wife is addicted now and has her own tank and is starting to obesses over hers as well.
Beautiful zoos I might add. Can't find any that nice here in Denver, I'm having zoo envy.

You'll want to be sending me those two right now!!!
Seriously though, they're gorgeous and I'm definitely jealous! But maybe you can help me out with a problem...
We got our tank with an eye towards these kinds of softies and other reef critters but now I'm too chicken to take the leap and go from having FOWLR to inverts. We've got a 130 gallon with:
live sand/crushed coral
80 lbs of liverock (we'd like to get one more 40 lb shipment before we feel we have enough LR)
sucky Seaclone skimmer which we'd like to replace
double biowheel power filter for backup
Fluval 404
2 900 powerheads on each end of the tank (thinkin we might need at least 2 more powerheads or a wavemaker but not sure right now)
lighting: 2 subcompacts 10,000K and blue actinic and one "spotlight" 6500K daylight bulb in the middle
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrates barely register since we did a water change maybe a week ago and yes, using RO/DI water

dosing with Purple Up
critters: about 20 snails, 10 blue legs, 1 emerald crab, 1 velvet damsel, 1 yellow tang, 1 HUGE peppermint shrimp (all of em fat and sassy

We also plan to get a DIY sump/fuge so we can get our equipment out of the tank and get some macros and pods going.
We're plagued right now with algae (I'm pretty sure the great majority of what we've got is just the brownish diatom stuff) so I've been afraid to get anything till we get that under control for fear it would cover them and kill them. I've got such an ITCH to get some softies in there though!!!!!!! Any thoughts or suggestions?

They're power compacts. The wattage on the two PCs add up to 192 plus the one spotlight which I don't remember but at least 40W so...1.75 watts or so per gallon? Doesn't seem like enough for a lot of them but I understand that some don't require a lot of lighting like some of the mushrooms.
matty: Oh I'm as impatient as they come but I can control it :hilarious If the conditions aren't right I won't get an animal no matter how big an itch I get! But we've had this tank for almost a year and we've been fighting this bleeping algae the whole time!! Argh!
I was thinking of starting with shrooms and fanworms until we upgrade a little more. Sound ok or no?

i've been looking at this mushroom rock that has over a dozen different spieces of shrooms for quite some time now. seeing how the three types of shrooms in my tank are doing well and multiplying, i might just get it :help:

I agree!
But sending such things to moderators is such a pleasurable experience for the sender!
