I have been looking at this for a few weeks now and trying to find out what it is but have come up empty.
its a single apendage comming out of the LR behind the red mush it can stretch and shrink as it wants,it looks to be feeding off the popped red algea bubble on top the rock,I have seen it pick stuff up like very small debris. at its longest its been about 2 to 2 1/2 inches to completely gone in the rock, its very skinny like 1/16" or smaller. the body has never changed color but i have seen white on the very tip. It seems like its can't move its always been in the same spot.
It can move very fast and its the only one in my tank that i have seen.
Any ideas?

Maybe the red shroom has a very long tounge? I have no idea as it doesnt look like some kind of clam "foot" or snail snout.

I thought a worm too but a worm that doesn't move? its been in the exact same spot for at least a month just seems odd to me...

If it has not moved, it may be a sponge, can you lift the mushroom flap and see under it where the suspect goes to?

As I take a closer look at this I have an idea. If ya'll remember my video of the WTH is that poopin, I saw something similar to this poking out of that hole where the poop came from. The more and more I think about this and study my tank, as there is literally nothing in it that I am not aware of, It could very well be some kind of clam or bivalve. I have a few of these "tougne" things sticking out of the rock every now and then. After a day or 2 of no activity, the "poop" flows out of the hole. A few days later I see the "tounge" again. Not sure if this will help you, but its my opinion.
