I have sooo many ?'s, will start with 1 tho on lighting.

I am very new to the saltwater tank hobby. I have had my tank up and running since September. It is an eclipse 29g. I just started to add live rock to it this week from my LFS. I have one piece about 2 lbs. and another little piece about 5-6 inches wide with some coral growing on it. I was told I need to have better lighting so I did change that to a Coralife 50/50. Is this going to be strong enough lighting? I also need to know how long does the lighting need to stay on in my tank? I am enjoying my new obsession its better than watching TV! I look forward to any input and really have enjoyed reading and learning from these message boards!

For lighting, you'll need to know what kind of tank you want (such as Fish only or Reef, and what kind of coral you want to keep, Soft or hard).
For fish only tank, most of the light will do. But I think PC is better for the color.
PC will be ok for some soft corals (2 or 3- 65w will be good with your tank IMO).
MH is what you need for hard corals, (175w or more IMO for you).
right now I have 2-65 w PC on my 20g. One daylight and one ture blue. I have soft coral w/ fish.
Please do more reseach on lighting here or at reef.

A 50/50 light is good for just fish and LR. But the LR will not grow to or show its full potential without better lighting. However..... a lot of corals, mainly mushrooms and there are others, will be fine with just a 50/50 light. So it all depends on your wants and cash flow. I've seen a few Eclipses in pet shops with nice looking LR and some corals with your light setup.
