Hey guys and gals, I am currently, though very slowly, filling up my brand new 125g tank with RO water. My filter only does 100gpd, I know I'm being impatient, but I know that patience is exactly what I need right now. My question is: I would like to stock my tank with exciting fish, of course compatible, however I am like a kid in a candy store. You have the answers, I ask you for your opinions. I currently have a lot of live rock, probably 75lbs in my current tank with: 1 lemonpeel angel, 1 caulk basselet, 1 firefish(red), 3 peppermint shrimp, many hermit crabs, and 2 clarkii clownfish. My current tank is about 3 years old--46g--Oh, I also have 1 very large-approximately 5" fox coral. and many types of mushrooms. Now your task is to help me stock my new tank, I know I have to wait for many weeks, with new tankmates. This is your chance to explore. :joy: :joy: :joy:

:jumping: Thanks a bunch for the suggestions, I'm not an aggressive fish kind of person, so I really like the first group suggestions. One question though, will the flame angel get along with my lemonpeel? If so, then I sure like them, very beautiful. Any more suggestions? Oh, I just got done ordering more live rock from this site. The last box I got is absolutely gorgeous, lots of growth, and the darkest purple corraline!!!!! :cheer:

Go with a Blue Throat trigger...I've had mine a few months...haven't showed any aggression to any of the other fish...and he and my yellow tang are always swimming laps together! and yet my Maroon clown still rules the tank stealing food right out of her month! its so funny! great fish! Oh yeah, other fish I'd get would be either a powder blue tang or a regal tang, purple tang and maybe like a majestic angel...I hear they are reef safe aswell...and a few more firefish... :happyfish

Fantastic suggestions!!!! Now I really feel like a kid in a candy store. So many options. They are all so beautiful, how do you pick just a few. Speaking of just a few, how many do you think I can realisticly place in there? I want lots of activity, but don't want to overload the protein skimmer, pumps etc. Since I am here, how much should I expect for evaporation? I came home today from work and about 1 full inch has evaporated.
Is this normal? I instantly checked the fluvals (2) and no leaks to be found. I don't have the lights working yet, still trying to get the temperature correct before I add the live sand, probably tomorrow. My tank is open, no glass covers or canopy. I truely appreciate the feed back. Never too old to learn!! :jumping:
Thanks in advance.

I also have thought about the bangaii cardinal. They are really interesting fish, with their shape and all. I really have so much research to do!! So many posibilities. :jumping: I have recently gotten a wonderful book, that not only shows pictures of the fish, but also in detail describes their behavior and feeding. I will look up all of your wonderful suggestions.
Thanks a bunch!! Please keep them coming.

Just be patient do your research and your going to have a lot of fun with your new tank. Good luck! getting a tang or two probaly would limit some of the other fish you get though but if that's your thing go for it. I love the blue throat triggers that's the fish I desire most but I have no more room for one they are beautiful fish and pretty nice as I've heard so maybe look into those hardy also. Also you can look at puffer fish or foxface rabbit fish have a good reputation. you have a lot of options once your ta
get's established just don't rush things.
I'm sure you know this already though.
