I have this tank....

I've had this tank (and stand) in my basement for about 3 years. I currently have a ten gallon nano tank. I am thinking of moving everything in it to this tank in my basement.
My problem, though, is that I don't know what this tank is. I don't know how many gallons it holds, that is to say.
The dimensions are:
36" wide
12.5" long
16.5" deep
Now, I don't know how to tell how many gallons that is equal to. Could anyone help me out? I need to know how much sand I need to buy.
In addition, I would also like to know if anyone has any recommendations about how I could (best) switch everything from my 10 gal. nano to the new tank (given that I don't have money for more live rock but could probably by about 60 lbs of live sand). Could I just put new live sand in the tank over regular sand (not live) and then throw in some of the live rock that in my 10 gal to get it cycling? Would this speed it up? Is this advisable?

This tank is 32 gallons.
Is live sand that much cheaper than live rock? You can also buy base rock - which is very cheap. In time, in the tank with your live rock, it will become live also.
One way to transfer everything over is just move all the contents of your current tank into the new one (including wate) and then add new water to it. If you can run both tankes at the same time for a while then get the new tank going. Put in some live rock from your current tank, with the new base rock if you go that route. Let the tank cycle a bit. Then move everything over.

Well, ideally I would like to just add some plain white sand across the bottom and then just throw everything I have in the 10 gal into the 32 gal. However, I don't know if that will cause a crash because the water in it hasn't cycled. I'm not sure. In addition, can I just throw in plain white sand on the bottom and then put the live sand from my 10 in there and it will seed the other sand to become live? That way, in a few weeks or so I can purchase more live rock and fill out the ********. Right now, I only have three snails, an Emerald Crab and a Green Chromis in the 10 gal.

In theory just moving everything from one tank into another - including the water - is sort of like a water change, a large one. In practice something can always go wrong and the tank can kick in into a cycle. Though probably not a large one and not for very long.
You can mix new and old sand and the old sand and rock will seed the new one.
