To be strong, either in faith of whatever we believe in, or just to make it through tomorrow. We are tested to what sometimes seems like the outer limits of our capabilities.
But those who are tested more than others, are chosen because of their strength. These trials are put into certain lives because "the blessed can provide throughout all tribulations".
Personally, I feel that we are all made up in 4 groups.
1- Those who need
2- Those who deny
3- Those who make it through
4- Those who supply
Jenny, I think your a supplier. You give so much of yourself for others and it will be duly recognized.

I hope to have someone like you in my corner someday.

Your family is in my prayers, Jenny.

It's true that he doesn't know any difference. I have very poor vision, and I remember when I was little my brother got glasses. I tried them on and said I could see better, so my parents took me to the eye doc and it turned out I needed glasses BADLY. I remember walking around amazed at what I could actually see; I told my parents I could even see the branches on the trees, lol. They felt so bad, lol.

Jenny,
I am a true believer in "if He leads you to it, He will lead you through it"
I am very sorry for everything you are going though....I will continue to keep you in my thoughts.

I feel we all have a place in this world Jenny, You are leaving your mark here in this earth. The world would be "less" kind without you. As we count on so many people to make our worlds go around, SO MANY people count on us.. Please talk to somebody,, counselor, member of the clergy, whatever, but talk it out,
It helps quite a bit..

the doc said that even if it was caught at birth it wouldnt have made any difference . currently there is nothing they can do about it except put him in the 'coke bottles' and make sure that his left eye no longer fully compensates for the right one. sorry to freak out on ya'll it just feels like the world has totally crashed in, like i said the last few years have been awful for our little family but i had a little prayer and meditation time and i feel more centered - i hate this though because he is such a sweet boy ,but i guess this is his burden he is strong though and he will overcome . the slight lazy eye that he has runs in his 'sperm donors' side of the family but none of the others have any actual vision problems as a result
im doing better now thanx guys i do however have to get in contact with the lions club the doc says they have 'therapy excersizes' for his eyes that might help to strengthen his left eye.

Jenny, fwiw, I'm nearly "legally" blind in both eyes. I wear contacts; No issues.... doesn't impact my day to day life at all. (I even dive wearing my contacts)

Jenny...not only that, but your local Lions Club can offer finiancial assistance, and/or payments for exams/glasses/etc. This is a very unused resource that very few people utilize or know about. Each club differs, based on size & how active they are, but blindness prevention is one of their main priorities. If you have no luck with your local club, contact Lions Club International. And BTW...you are correct, God will never, ever, give you more than you can take. It must be overwhelming, but at the end of each day, just pour it all out back to Him, and you WILL make it thru tomorrow. Better days lie ahead for you.

Jenny, My wife and I had some trying times with our kids a while back. It was pretty bad and we were not sure if we would make through it. Then one day we were watching the news and they were talking about how something had cracked, but had not broken, so it was still good, just needed a little shoring up. I realized that that is what happend to me, I may have cracked but I did not break. That kind of helped me put things in perspective and I can say that we have both made it out of those times.
Just trying to help. Notice it seems to be the kids that cause most of our problems? I guess we just love them too much.

That gives me an idea...we just trade off every once in awhile & give each other a break. I got 3 boys, so who's ready....

gah, this is tough...
stick through it jenny, you're strong enough to have this stuff pile up on you. one of these days you'll be like, wth, i haven't had any issues the past week/month and it will be smooth sailing :)
as for glasses...I never knew i needed them. my wife said you should go get your eyes checked, i was 20/100 in my right eye and 20/40 in my left. glasses are so light and compact now your son shouldn't have to get the coke bottle glasses.
