I just did a Seachem Nitrate test

2 test kits. One is a strip test made by a company called Mardel, expired in 2007. The other is API, wholly crap I didn't even notice but my main API test expired in 2003! It expired 8 years ago! Wow! What a sign! I can't wait to see what my REAL tank parameters are!!!

It expired 8 years ago! Wow! What a sign! I can't wait to see what my REAL tank parameters are!!!
Test strips are no use anyway. I once purchased a brand new Red Sea master kit...it was expired two years..that's how long it sat on the shelf. I went back to the store for replacement, all six were expired.

I agree with this... but they are easy to use!
This concerns the Red Sea kit.......So are all the other test kits like it. Seachem is even easier, no test tubes. Just an eyedropper of water on a white pallet and one drop of test solution (depends on the test how many drops)....a little color chart tells you what the numbers are. As a big bonus, they give you a reference test (for each test) so you can be sure the results you got are dead on. That ability to double check is worth it's weight in gold.
