It took me almost two weeks to read the last book, with a two year old, so I ignored anything I saw, read or heard about the book. Yesterday I got towards the end and could not put it down and kept reading until 1230am! I had horrible dreams and I'm totally exhausted! So thrilling that just a book could do that! I can not believe she killed off Dumbledore!!
How could she?!
I was crushed, as I'm sure just about everyone was. I don't want to believe Snape but I can't help it because I trust Dumbledore. I think he was too far gone and he was actually asking Snape to kill him. I'm sure there is some grand purpose. AND...when Harry was trying to hex Snape, I think, kept trying to tell him his problem so that Harry could figure out what he needed to do to fight Voldemort. Snape read all of his spells before he said them and surely Voldemort would do the same. He also stopped the death eaters from killing him too, even though he said Voldemort wants to kill him. Too sad about Harry and Ginney but has to be done. Wow, what a change of direction the book has made. I can't stop thinking about it. Now it's two years until the next. This is torture.
The last novel I read was book #5! I really miss reading grown-up books.
ps-i'm sure everyone else is far ahead me but I just wanted to vent.

I agree about the Snape thing. I read the book in two days <.< >.> heh. It being the summer and me not being able to find a job, it made it pretty easy to spend two days doing nothing but that. It will be interesting to see how J.K. Rowling pulls everything together in the final book...I personally think that would be pretty difficult considering how many things need to be explained/addressed. I'm also curious about her plans after that...like if she'll write anymore books concerning those characters.

lefty-I would have read it in two days to if I had the chance. It was really good and very hard to put down, even with a two year old. It seems the concesus is excitement for the last and final book and what she does with the story to finish it. I'm still hoping Dumbledore will come back some way. Like he and Snape had a plan the whole time.
pwnag3-SO SORRY!
I thought I was the last to read it. I didn't read anything that was labled Harry Potter until I was done with it. It's still a fabulous book.
