I have two False Percula clownfish and I just watched them clean a spot on one of my live rocks right next to their anenome and than the bigger one, my female layed eggs and the male fertilized them. she would lay an egg and he would go behind her and I'm guessing fertilize it, this kept happening until a 3" by 2" spot was filled with the little eggs. I walked away finally and they were still laying them, it was so cool to watch, but I have a hand fed Snowflake Eel, a Cinnamon Clownfish, a Yellowtail Damsel, a Lawnmower Blenny, a Yellow Tang, a Magnifiscent Goby (Psychadelic Dragonette), a Purple Dottyback, a cleaner shrimp, a Coral Banded Shrimp, a crab and 4 starfish. So any information on if I can move them, what to, and how to in order to keep them alive. I read you can put them in a 10 gallon tank with no filter and they'll live but what about airation? Should I put the parents in there as well? They also layed the eggs within their host anenomes reach so some of the anenomes tentacles are starting to shrivel a little because the clowns are biting the tentacles that get to close to the eggs, will this hurt my anenome? Will the anenome hurt the eggs or do they have protection against the sting like the parents? Thank you SO much for any help you can provide me.

Hi Brandy,
The anemone wont hurt the eggs.
The fish wont hurt the anemone.
The fry will not survive in your main tank
The fry can be raised in a 10 gallon ( I use 5's) with just an air line, heater, light and food until they are 20-30 days old, then you will need to add a cheapy sponge filter.
Dont even think about trying to raise this hatch. Instead, take some notes on gestation period, get some rotifer cultures going, and most importantly, get the book called "clownfishes" by Joyce Wilkerson. Only read the last few chapters if you want, because the first chapters are about obtaining a pair, setting up for them to spawn, etc.. The last few talks about feeding and raising your fry.. Take the time to get your food cultures going and taking notes. You clowns will spawn about every 2 weeks so there will plenty of opportunities and occelaris fry are the easiest to raise..
Good Luck

Thank you that sets my mind at ease.
I was wondering also the eggs are on one of my live rocks and that liverock will fit in a 10 gallon, can I transfer them as eggs or should I wait until they are frys? I figure I could submerge a 10 gallon tank in my main tank and do the switch underwater so my liverock and the eggs are not exposed to air... will it work? I also have read the book "Clownfishes in the Aquarium" by Gregory B. Skomal. It says that I will need to bottom clean the bottom with a vacuum twice a day due to not having a filter. It also says to feed live rotifers in high density 3 times a day for the first 5 days, is that too much? Thank you again... I am determinedto make it work out... I have had this reef tank going for about 3 1/2 yrs. with minimal problems so I hope the luck continues!
