I nearly died today

I was pulling up at the park to meet a friend and once I parked she noticed that I wasn't moving. She thought I was just joking around since I'd already gotten the keys from the ignition, water bottle in hand, and opened the door. She came up to me and realized I wasn't breathing and had turned blue. I don't remember anything until I came-to in the ambulance. Weird stuff man. The hospital couldn't figure out what the heck happened and discharged me home. Pathetic medical care if you ask me.
Either way, my fiance Janice and I have kind of been at each others throats lately and this experience made me realize that if I died, I would have died during a time where I've probably been a real jag off to Janice. I am going to try to keep this as close to me as possible and treat every day like it's my last. I should treat every day like it's a new opportunity to show my love and appreciation for those around me. I think we all should approach the sunrise with this frame of mind.
Of course, I say this now.... In two weeks time I'll be back to complaining about wet towels not getting hung up, water left running, lights on in every room of the house, etc..
WAIT A MINUTE....WHEN DID I TURN INTO MY DAD

WOW...how scary and yet enlightening at the same time....we have lost quite a few people lately that have made us realize life is too short and unpredictable to take for granted.....

Just sitting there turning blue....I would not rest until I found out why. A body does not just shut down for no reason. Time to get some tests done....that includes the exhaust on the car if your body is fine.
You are right about everyday we should remember that it could be our last. When I had my massive heart attack...I wasn't thinking about the wet towels on the floor, or if the house was clean. I was concerned about meeting the Almighty. When I got out of the hospital and listened to my loved ones on how worried and afriad they had lost me, and they way my little 3 yrs old girl waited at the door thinking I was just at work and would be home soon...I learned what was important in life.

Well I'm glad you ended up being okay, but like Flower said, I wouldn't rest until I knew what caused that! I can't believe they just sent you home!

glad you are alright Eric.. what a scary experience... I would try to find out too... I think it's crazy that these people get paid the amount that they do and can't figure out... I don't know if it's because they don't care or they genuinely don't know..

Thank you all for your well wishes. I am certainly going to get more tests done. I had a hard time sleeping last night for fear I would wake up dead. It's so weird how it happened. My friend Heather told me today that my lips were so blue that it looked like I just ate a blue popsicle. I have had a real weird headache today. It's more like a brain ache. Even though brains don't have nerves that conduct pain stimuli, it feels like mine does right now. I guess it hurts like that because it got so hypoxic/anoxic. Other than that and the fear that was instilled in me, I feel fine. I'm a healthy dude for the most part, and I lead a pretty active lifestyle which makes this even more concerning.

Well... lack of oxygen to your head will certainly can be a cause for the headache.. :/
I will hope and pray that all will be well. Hang in there Eric.

I assume the hospital told you to follow up with your doc which hopefully you've already done. Scary stuff.
