You can write to RIO all you want....
You can call RIO all you want....
You can bad mouth RIO all you want....
But one thing will not change.
RIO doesn't give a darn.
They won't even honor a valid warranty most of the time.
Now you know why people are losing confidence in RIO, and many businesses will no longer carry them. Do what many others have done and find another brand of pump.

Saltylakes. Why won't you believe that all you need is frequent water changes with calcium and buffer to keep most tanks happy and not all the other junk that you are putting in your tank. It really is not that hard to believe.
If your polyfiter pads are looking good and you have done good water changes then the corals are probably just recovering from the toxins, and from the shock of the large water changes. Keep up the small water changes for some time to keep the tank as stable as possible until the corals recover. Good luck.

thank you EVERYONE!!!!
I am going to get a refugium. Does anyone know sites on the internet that sell Refugiums at good prices.. Also does anyone know of a site that also offers pumps.
Should i get a pump that goes inside the wetdry or a dry one outside....
Also i am going to use only Calcium and Alk powders from seacham and also Tech I from seachem for iodine... That it, along with a 5 gallon water change every three weeks.
Also i am going to buy another set of PC's.
What i really want for my 55 is a set of 175 watt Metal Halides 12000 K. and the set of PC's with both bulbs being blue...
is this to much light for my 55 gallon and also is the heat to much?
My AC is always runnig at 73. thanks agian

why don't you try every other week so it's twice a month. Also be careful with the iodine. I dosed when I first got into the hobby and had terrible algae outbreaks. It turned out that the iodine was feeding the algae because the frequent water changes kept up my levels of everything besides calcium, so i was just overdosing my tank. Good luck with whatever you choose to do. I really think that the 2 more pc of just actinic is going overkill and overheat. If your corals start to turn brown after awhile then you know that you have to much actinic. from personall expeirience I can assure you that 2-40 watt actinics with 2-96 watt 10k will cost you aton less, run cooler, and work just as well than 2-96 w actinics. These are only my opinions but I hate to see you having to by cooler lights or an expensive chiller which you are going to have to if you put 4-96 watt pc on your tank. Just some stuff to think about.

I definately agree with the fact that if you do frequent water changes, you don't need to add the supplements except calcium and a buffer. A GOOD salt like Instant Ocean or Kent have the supplements in the salt.
Use to have a RIO and everytime I turned the pump off to do some maintenance or whatever, it never wanted to restart. Had to bang on it and shake it around just to start it back up.
