Make sure to post every possible piece of information next time something is wrong with your tank. The more you give the faster you will get good feedback. Do you think it had something to do with the chemical you added to remove the algae? Chemicals never do any good to the fish (IMO).

The other thing to think about would be after the red slime remover was added, (was it chemiclean by chance?) did you do a water change? that chemical can seriously deplete oxygen, even after being in the tank for two weeks with no problems and if your skimmer wasn't on, that could be a factor.
Not say it's not the copepods, but it's something to consider.
