I'm going to guess it is die off of the coraline algae. Usually if the rock is now, or lighting is too bright or not enough it will die off. Also insufficient calicum and alk levels cause it to die off to..

i just got 2 big pieces of large live rock 2 days ago and i was great colors cause im trying to build up my reef and it is higher up to the lighting and its turning white on the tops of the new rocks and some of the old ones so do you know what i should do?

Keep your calcium and Alk in check and as long as you have good lighting it will probably come back on its own.

Yes, make sure you resize or crop the picture to 500 x 500 or less and then go to the buttom below labeled manage attachments, click that, click on the browse buttom find the resized file, click upload, then click the done button or whatever its labeled and post.

well they all look fairly white to me, I say just give it time and maintain proper calcium and alk levels. Lighting pays a role too, from my experience coraline does better under medium light vs high light.
