I Need Help!!!

Hello Fellow Fish Friends,
I'm new to saltwater fish, so I need help.
I've just bought my girlfriend a Eclipse System 12 Gallon Marine Aquarium Kit. And I'm trying to figure out which fish to put in the tank.
Recently, she told me that she likes the fish from Finding Nemo- Dory (a Blue Tang). But, I've noticed that the minimum tank size for this fish is 40 gallons. What would happen if I were to put a Blue Tang in my 12 gallon?
What other colorful fish would you all suggest that I could buy, which would fit in a 12 gallon?
Thanks!
- Charles

Any tang is, or will be too big for that tank. How about going with "nemo" himself - clowns are a very hardy fish that are also entertaining - IMO - so I think it would be a good starter fish. The hippo is also a fairly difficult fish to raise even in a properly sized tank. GL

Well, i hate to break it to ya but blue tangs need a minimum of 100 to 125 gallon tanks. If your girlfriend likes the fish from finding Nemo you could get a clown. The only thing you really can get are the clown fish.

Two clowns in a 12 gallon will be about all the fish you'll fit. I had 2 in an Eclipse 12 for nearly 7 months before upgrading and they did great. I hope you got the one designed for saltwater with the 50/50 lighting.
